It’s only then that the boot shows off its entire range of strengths and its many features. On the outside, the boot is made mostly of leather, a feature that makes it both an eye-catcher and wonderfully robust. Lowa uses the innovative X-Lacing tech­nology to create a comfortable fit – the special lacing system prevents the tongue from slipping and creating pressure points. Thanks to the boot’s Vibram TRAC LITE II outsole, boot wearers can confidently take on the widest range of surfaces. When things turn wet outdoors, the Gore-Tex lining is optimally equipped to keep the wearer’s feet completely dry while providing them with adequate air to breathe. • Gore-Tex: Footwear equipped with a Gore-Tex membrane is reliably waterproof, windproof and breathable.
• Vibram: Vibram has been one of the leading brands of high-quality soles for many years.
• Resoleable: Lowa boots sold in the Mountaineering and Trekking categories are designed in a way during the development phase that they can be resoled. The upper of the shoe is retained, and a new sole is added to it. This process will extend the shoe’s service life and make a strong contribution to sustainability.
• Moderately Stiff: Footwear labelled “moderately stiff” provides a good symbiosis between optimal support for the foot’s musculature and pleasant rolling properties.
• 2 Zone Lacing: Thanks to the two zone lacing system, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the footwear can be individually adjusted to the foot’s anatomy.
• X-Lacing: Optimum positioning of the tongue, without any slippage or pressure points: This is what X-Lacing technology is all about. This special lacing system secures the tongue both vertically and horizontally. As a result, the lacing system gains independence from the height of the instep, making it perfect for any type of foot. This technology ensures that the pressure of the laces is transferred not just to the hooks but to the tongue as well.
• C4-Tongue: The specially designed footwear tongue substantially enhances comfort. The tongue includes extra padding for the outer portion of the foot, and the upper end of it is especially soft. This asymmetric padding provides optimum support to many areas of the foot. To take into account the foot’s natural anatomy, the recesses for the ankle area have also been placed higher on the inside than on the outside, and a flexible bending insert has been integrated into the inner side by the foot.
• Lowa Flex: To add flexibility to each eyelet, the lacing systems through which laces are threaded are affixed separately. These sections are made of soft leather trim or textile materials that prevent pressure points. Thanks to the flexible arrangement of the eyelets, the laces can individually be adjusted without producing too much pressure on specific areas. Yet the tongue maintains its optimum positioning.
